Saint Rita of Cascia is known to be a peacemaker who brought the long time family feuding to an end. A fresco depicting that peace is displayed in the Church of Saint Francis in Cascia. She was an Augustinian nun who entered the order after the violent death of her husband where she stayed in contemplative and spiritual prayer till her passing. Saint Rita is the Patron Saint of abused and unhappy women. The story goes that she successfully converted her husband to mend his ways and through her good spiritedness, was known to lead by example, most times emphasizing on the need to forgive and through constant good deeds. Our amazing sculpture captures the beauty of this amazing saint who was born in the tiny hills of Cascia in 1381. Created in white marble and is hand carved by artisans.
