Saint Rita of Cascia was canonized on May 24, 1900 and is recognized for the thorn that came to be inflicted upon her person by the Crucifixion figure that was in the convent she attended. Our marble sculpture of Saint Rita highlights the saint holding a cross and with the significant crown of thorns expressing her intense devotion to Jesus. She is also known as the saint of the impossible. Reflecting infinite detail and a wonderful attention to facial expressions that is only typical of Italian sculptors, our Saint Rita of Cascia glorifies the beautiful saint who gave so much through her perseverance in being nun and who in turn, asked for so little. Handcrafted and hand finished. Carrara marble aggregates.
The sculpture is derived from a handcrafted replica and offers the fine features and details that you would expect from classic Italian statuary.
Dimensions: 15"H with Base of About 4" x 3.5"
Normally ships in 3-4 weeks. Up to 12 weeks if not in stock.
*Disclaimer - The image is a representation of the statue but the finished statue may not be an exact match to the one shown as each piece is crafted by hand. No two pieces will therefore be alike.

The Crown of Thorns is often associated with Saint Rita because of her calling to suffer the same manner in which Jesus did as the crown of Thorns was laid on his forehead by the Romans. Our sculpture is made of fiberglass resin.
