Gorilla Fun Facts to Know:
Gorillas are known to be the world’s largest primates and are believed to be closely linked to humans. According to research, about 98% of their DNA is identical to that of homo sapiens. They are also known to be highly intelligent with a relatively large brain and have devised their own means of communication engaging in about 25 different sounds. These primates play a pivotal role in seed dispersal and because of that, many large fruit trees are grown and depend on these animals for survival. Male adult gorillas which acquire the silver lining on their backs reaching to their hips are known as silverbacks. It is said that gorillas consume about 30 kg of food everyday.
