Gorilla Fun Facts to Know:

There are two species of gorillas known, both of which live in central Africa and are separated by dense rainforest. The four species are known as the eastern lowland and mountain gorillas while the other two are composed of the western lowland and cross river (western) gorillas.  Of the four, the western lowland gorilla is believed to be the most numerous with population estimated anywhere between 100,000 and 200,000. The figure cannot be ascertained completely because of the habitat of the gorillas which is known to be contained within a dense rainforest. The lowest number is believed to be recorded by the cross river gorilla which live in Nigeria and Cameroon, and are thought to number only about 300.
