Turtle Facts:

Did you know that fishing trawlers and commercial fishing ships which work the seas to catch fish use long lines which stretch several miles to catch their fishes? The problem that happens is the fishes and turtles like the loggerheads and leatherbacks work in the same area that the fishermen send their lures into the water. Each long line will have several thousand hooks and lures to attract the fishes. When the turtles get caught on the hooks, they will not be able to reach the surface to breathe thereby leading them to drown. If the turtles survive though, the hooks would have caused enough damage to them leading to a slow death as they get caught in their digestive systems.
