Golf Fun Facts:
In the early days of golf in Scotland, people were reported to play golf with wooden golf clubs and wooden balls. These golf balls were believed to have been made from beech, box root and other hardwoods. One documented reference refers to a Jon Daly who played golf with a wooden ball in 1550. Such golf balls were said to be in use till the 17th century. The balls would last only a few games before they needed to be replaced.
