Because of the threat of non-invasive animals close to the nesting sites of sea turtles, there is a need to monitor nesting sites so as to preserve the life cycle of the sea turtles. We can do our part by protecting nesting sites. One way we can do this is to stop leaving our cats and dogs around beaches so that they do not disturb the nesting sites of the sea turtles. Another way is to stop leaving trash so it does not invite other animals like stray dogs and cats as well as raccoons from exploring the nests. People should also contact law enforcement if they witness any activity that affects the nests. |
