Saint Anthony the Great was an ascetic who spent years in the desert devoting his quiet life towards Christ. Those years were known to be extremely harsh. The story is told that the saint spent years living in a fort where communication was virtually nil with the outside world, occasioned by visits where food would be issued to him by villagers through a crevice. The devil had made many attempts to tempt and many times more, torture the saint during his quiet years but he would not be deterred. Saint Anthony is the Patron Saint of many skin diseases and is seen with the pig, some claiming that the saint was once in charging of running the swineherd. Made in Italy.
