Our mermaid swims and is rather happy being surrounded by the friends of the sea, in this case, turtles. The aquatic theme of this lovely mermaid sculpture and table adds a coastal theme to the home.
The sculpture is created from aluminum and comes with a glass top. Hand finished.

Turtle Facts

The Hawksbill sea turtles are critically endangered in the Indian, Pacific and Caribbean coasts with populations reportedly declining by more than 90% in the last 100 years. For centuries, these beautiful sea turtles have been hunted for their gold and brown shell to create jewelry and other luxury items despite the initiation of CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora). CITES is an international agreement that was created by 173 governments to protect sea turtles and other marine wildlife. One of the clauses in the agreement includes the sale of turtle shells. However, that has not stopped the black market for turtle shells from thriving in Japan.
