Turtle Facts

Did you know that sea turtles do better in resisting oil spills than most other marine life because of their tough shell? However, trouble begins when the turtles come to the surface to breathe because that’s when the oil gets into their eyes, on their skin and into their lungs. Many turtles found close to oil spills n the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico were found to have injected tar into their guts and mouths. Turtles also become vulnerable to chemical exposure through the food they eat. All this eventually destroys the turtles’ health and make them much weaker.
