Greyhounds are pack animals and observe a pack leader also called the “alpha” figure. Once an alpha figure is established, the greyhound will look to this individual for the rules and all directions needed in getting along with the pack. In the pack, the alpha figure is seen to be the commander and the strongest leader. When you purchase your greyhound puppy, it will look to you as the alpha figure and it is therefore important that you set the rules for it to continue observing you as such. Once the dog recognizes you as its leader, it will follow you from place to place and look to you for leadership. If you do not meet that role, it could lead to issues getting your dog to observe your commands. |
