Wolf Fun Facts
Did you know that there are two types of wolves found in the North American continent? One species is called the Gray Wolf, also known as the Timber Wolf or the Arctic Wolf, while the other is the red wolf. Today, the red wolf is facing threats to their survival and only a number of them exist in parts of coastal North Carolina with reports of about 100 existing in the wild today. These animals were once common to the Southeast and parts of South-central United States. It isn’t therefore surprising why the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List of Endangered Species has listed it as one of the endangered animals. |
