There are many reasons why a wolf may howl and oftentimes, one cannot miss the way a wolf howls because it can be so spine tingling and unnerving. The fact however remains that wolves howl for various reasons. One is of the reasons is their need to communicate to the rest of their pack. When a wolf howls, it may be seeking the attention of its pack perhaps to draw attention to the presence of another wolf or pack nearby. At times, howling simply becomes a habit and catches on and one wolf’s howl may convince another to howl the same way. At times, one rival wolf pack will confront the other by making howls as well. Exception lies with the lone wolf which will never howl or show any interest to join the pack. |
