Frog Facts
Did you know that frogs breathe even when they are hibernating? Some frogs hibernate in mud underwater and absorb the oxygen through their skin. They will also swim around in the water to maintain proper oxygen levels. One type of frog though that does not breath is the wood frog which freezes during winter and literally shuts down their system so it will not breathe. Come spring, the frog is known to warm up and begin breathing as if nothing happened! |
