Our large turtle is designed as a fountain statue and is created from bronze for long term use. Dimensions: 11"H x 21" x 14" Weight: About 65 lbs We will match and do better on any in-stock or custom bronze sculpture. Email us. Ships in 12-16 weeks. We do not stock these and they ship via sea freight. Most of our beautiful statues could ship from the east and Thailand, and take a while to get to us as they are hand crafted sculptures and sea freight could take up to 12 weeks or more depending on the weather.
Turtle Facts:
Female turtles which are looking to nest are used to dark quiet beaches when it comes to laying eggs. Most often now, these nesting turtles are not able to find their quiet spots. Because of tourism, beaches have become a popular resort for many people. Some people also like to live by the sea and the coast, and there are hotels and seaside houses which have been built to accommodate this. This development in turn has led to the construction of lighting by the beaches causing a great deterrent for the sea turtles looking to nest. Nesting turtles get disoriented with such lights. They are comfortable with the moonlight and as such, she will find other less safe places to lay her eggs sometimes depositing them into the sea. All this will affect the hatchlings as their chances of survival become slimmer. |
